Beetles have such interesting sculptural shapes to help them fit in their environment. This is Gomez and his pinchers help him fight rival male beetles. He is solid bronze, made by the lost wax method. He is hand cast and finished and polished to a mirror finish.
Bronze develops a rich patina as it is exposed to oxygen that give the pieces depth and texture and bronze has such an interesting history and has been used for everything from weapons of war to works of art.
Gomez is 2" long and 5/8" wide. He comes with your choice of a knotted leather cord, an 18" metal chain or a 24" metal chain and you can see what each choice looks like in the photographs. The leather, the 18" chain and the 24" chain are the top three in the picture.

A word about shipping. My goal is to get your item to you as safely and inexpensively as possible. I have recently reformulated how I do shipping. I have always shipped using USPS calculated shipping which is based on weight and boxes plus shipping material are part of that weight. If you purchase multiple items, they can usually go in one box which will bring the weight down, because the extra cost of another box or boxes is not needed, but the calculated shipping couldn't deduct the weight off and the shipping cost was shown as going up instead of down.
All along, I have only been charging what the actual shipping cost was, but because of the way Shopify is set up, final payment is not taken from your account until I "accept" it. I don't "accept" it until I have packed the order and printed the shipping label so I can find out what the actual shipping cost is and then "accept" that amount so you won't be overcharged for shipping. And that is not going to stop.
What is going to stop is me using the USPS calculated shipping, it was never very accurate because it doesn't do combined shipping, but has become even less so since the USPS last shipping rate change that happened in January. So I fired the calculated shipping program and I just added my new rates which still don't deduct the weight of boxes and shipping material if you order more than one item, but I will continue to only "accept" the actual shipping charge like I have always done.
Plus, I'm now offering free shipping for orders over $75 for my United States customers and free shipping for orders over $150 for my international customers, as long as your order stays under 4 pounds.
Please please please let me know if you have problems trying to check
out. I'm hoping there won't be any, but I'm realistic too, and usually
changes have to be tweaked to get them just right. Just send me a
message to zebraleg@earthlink.net and I'll reply quickly.
Thank you all so much for your patronage, so many of you have been
customers for years and I value all of you and for new customers, I hope
that you will return too, vintage is addicting!
